| Worked in Motorcycle shops while I was in High School and a
short time after I got out of the Army, also worked in a machine shop.
No laughing now. I ran an automatic screw machine for Hi Shear rivets.
O.K., O.K., O.K., it doesn't screw, it makes screws. All right ! |
| Went to school at Northrop Institute of Technology for A&P
License but the aerospace crash convinced me that there was no a good
future for airplane mechanics. Besides motorcycles were more fun so I
went racing while I worked as a boat mechanic in Redondo Beach. |
| Got married, quit racing, got a hair cut and got a real job
at Volkswagon of America, Porche-Audi div. as a warranty claims
adjuster. (3 yrs). |
| Moved to Alfa-Romeo Inc. for more money and closer to home.
Warranty Manager and Customer Relations Manager was the worst job on
the planet. It payed the bills (6 yrs). |
| Alfa Romeo service department moved to Englewood Cliffs,
N.J. I didn't. Oops! Tried being an Amway salesman. |
| 1981 Went to work for Pacific Bell Telephone as Special
Services (everything but plain old telephone service) controller
tester. Worked with all types of voice and data circuits and networks
for first ten years. Then changed jobs to Communication Technician
Electronic Switching Systems ( I run that thing the dial tone comes
from). For the last six years plus I have worked in a one
man central office in the small town of Fillmore, California. |
| Got my first P.C 1983, a Kaypro CPM box. Unix e-mail was
horrible stuff. No color. Anyone but me remember ARPA NET. |
| I graduated from Chapman University with a B.S. in Computer
Information Systems. |
