Hello folks, I am happy to report that a plan is in place to hold a joint Bird Dog reunion with the 221st RAC. After an onsite meeting by representatives from both units, it was agreed that the place and dates were ideal for our purpose. The weather should be great and with most of the tourists having departed, crowds should not be a problem.
This reunion will provide us with a unique opportunity to meet and socialize with members of our sister unit. With the history of both units connected to operations in support of IV Corp in Viet Nam, there will be a lot common ground for discussion.
REGISTRATION: There is a registration fee of $150.00 per person. This money will be used to cover the cost of the hospitality room, refreshments, welcome party, and Saturday’s dinner.

ACTIVITIES: We will have a dedicated hospitality room fulltime. It will be stocked with refreshments and there are provisions for the use of electronic devices. A welcome party is planned for Thursday evening. An informal dinner is planned for Saturday night.
Deep-sea fishing, golf, and museum tours are possibilities that are being looked at. Bus trips could include a Friday visit to an airport cookout where Bird Dogs would be available for viewing and passenger rides. A Saturday trip to the US Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola is also under consideration. A complete schedule of events is under construction.
I would encourage you to sign up early to obtain the room of your choice. The number of attendees is uncertain at this time, but many are expected. Much effort has been, and will be, put in to making this a memorable reunion. This could be a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit with people you never thought you would see again. The place is excellent, the time is right. Pack up the kids, grandkids, parents, grandparents, and come on down. You will enjoy it.
